We Boost the agricultural capacity of our communities
Since Uganda’s economy widely depends on the agricultural sector. Over 85% of the estimated 32 million inhabitants of the country live in rural areas and rely mainly on agriculture for their livelihood. Action of love international therefore, operates within Teso sub region that depend on agriculture and agri-business for their livelihoods. This therefore indicates that Agriculture (including livestock) is a core sector for food security, income enhancement and employment for most of the households in Teso sub region. Subsistence agriculture and more specifically crop farming remains the main source of livelihoods for small-scale farmers in Teso sub region and Uganda at large.
It’s in this context therefore, Action of love international focused on building household resilience including economic empowerment of households in Teso sub region through various ways as elaborated below:
- Distribution of planting materials. This aims at improving food production at household level.
